Energy Saving Features.

The radiant shell condenser (it releases heat from food in the refrigerator to the outside air) is welded to the top and sides of the outer cabinet. This condenser saves more energy because it does not require an energy consuming condenser fan motor as is required in some no-frost type of refrigerators.
Magna-seal gaskets, with a magnetic strip inside the tough vinyl gasket, grip the cabinet for an airtight seal. This locks the cold in, keeps the warm air out, and reduces running time. The seamless, one-piece ads extra insulating protection because it conducts less heat than either metal or porcelain-coated steel liners. This refrigerator is a partial automatic defrost model, and has one auxiliary, moisture-preventing heater strip (center mullion). This heater is cycled with the compressor and controlled by the energy saver control so you can realize additional energy savings depending upon humidity conditions in your home.

How to Save Energy. Location.

You will save energy if your refrigerator is located away from heating equipment and direct sunlight.
Keep the freezer and refrigerator sections full, the unit will operate more economically when filled to capacity, but not overfilled. When the refrigerator-freezer is full and the doors are opened, the cold food helps maintain temperature.

Control settings.

You should set the freezer-refrigerator control so that it does not run colder than necessary.
Doors. Check the door gaskets to be sure they do not become blocked, dirty, or worn. Air leaks will cause the unit to operate unnecessarily.
Defrosting. You should defrost your freezer when frost has built to more than 1/4-inch thick. With frost build-up, efficiency decreases and your unit must run longer to compensate for it.

Cleaning.

How to remove grill at bottom of the unit. Pull grill straight forward from the unit to release the grill clips. To replace, reverse procedure.
Condensate drain pan. The pan is located underneath the cabinet. Periodically, remove grill and clean pan. We suggest every three grill
Before replacing grill, make sure the pan is in place meat pan out of the metal holder. When reassembling, reverse the procedure.

FINAL PLACEMENT OF REFUGERATOR ON SOLID FLOOR

Support the combined weight of the food and the unit in order to insure proper operation and a good door seal.

REFRIGERATOR

If the spot selected is next to a wall, be sure that you allow two inches of space along the side so the doors can be opened 90 degrees.

Freestanding

The refrigerator must be installed as a freestanding unit. It has an efficient radiant shell condenser but there must be ample air circulation around the unit for maximum operating efficiency. Locate it away from direct sources of heat. Slide unit against the wall. For minimum clearances, allow 1/2-inches between top of unit and overhead cabinets. Each side of the unit must have one inch between walls, counter top, or other appliance do not completely build in unit.

Warm cabinet.

Even when installed with proper clearance, it is normal for the sides and top of the cabinet to feel warm to the touch. This is the heat being transferred from the food inside the unit into the air. It is warmest when the compressor motor is running.

Leveling is important for proper closing.

How to level refrigerator. Your refrigerator should be leveled with rollers at each corner. Some models have four leveling legs. If your floor is not level from side to side, it may be necessary to shim less than one of the rollers or legs at the rear.
Leveling with rollers. Each front roller (located behind the grill at the bottom of the unit) is independently adjustable. Use a screwdriver to move the front rollers up or down. Adjust until the unit tilts slightly from front to back. This allows the doors to close firmly.
Leveling unit without rollers. This model has leveling legs that must rest firmly against the floor. Adjust by turning legs until the unit tilts slightly from front to back. This allows the doors to close firmly.
